Gift delivery event film

What do you think is the most important part of a gift?
With our busy lives, we often do not have time to deliver the gifts we careful select for others.
This is another creative project that we worked on with our partner RulesCreative. To show the greatest sincerity of a tea and wine brand created in Taiwan, we decided… to wrap and deliver the gift-giver in a box!

Idea

After our partner proposed the strategy of wrapping up and delivering the gift-giver in a box, we quickly began the follow-up filming plan. Including how to hide the camera, the fake clerk, to the entire shooting schedule… and so on. Everything had to be planned meticulously to avoid any mistakes.

The client wanted to create emotional ups and downs in an overall joyful atmosphere. Thus, the beginning was fun and suspenseful, and in the second half, when the present was opened, we wanted viewers to feel surprised and touched. The most important thing is to let the viewer believe: “Wow, someone really did this.”

Process

In the entire process of shooting, the hardest part to execute was the kidnapping scene after purchasing the gift box.

In order to enhance shooting efficiency, and not disrupt the actors’ emotions, we chose to film the actor walking into the door, being kidnapped, and coming out all in one shot. All other close-ups or extra shots would be taken later.

We even arranged up to six cameras located inside and outside the kidnapping scene. We also practiced all the shots to avoid missing any shots or making mistakes.

Result

This film has been shared by over 3000 people online. Through online and offline integration, a lot of buzz was successfully created and DC and Rules Creative were able to write another success story.

The film had many difficulties, such as, another tricky shot was the emotional performance after the box was opened. The role design of the three groups were decided after repeated discussions. The lines and emotional expressions were constantly adjusted on-site in hopes of shooting the most authentic and natural emotions. For the DC team, it was a perfectly executed project, and every link had to work seamlessly.
